The Honorable Walter D. Kelley, Jr., former Judge of the United States District Court of the Eastern District of Virginia and current Partner at Jones Day, has joined The McCammon Group, a leading provider of mediation, arbitration, and related dispute resolution services in the mid-Atlantic.

Judge Kelley tried antitrust, intellectual property cases for 23 years as a Partner in Willcox & Savage, P.C. and Troutman Sanders LLP. In 2004, he was appointed as an United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Virginia. He served on the bench for four years before leaving to join Jones Day as a Partner in Washington, D.C. He focuses his practice on a broad array of complex commercial matters including, but not limited to antitrust, intellectual property, and shareholder disputes.

Judge Kelley is a former Member of the House of Delegates of the American Bar Association, a former Chair of the Virginia State Bar’s Section of Antitrust, Franchise and Trade Regulation law, and a former President of the Virginia State Bar Young Lawyers Conference. He is a former Master of the James Kent Inn of Court, former Rector and Board Member of Old Dominion University, and a former Chairman and Director of the Board of Directors for The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation center.

Prior to his appointment to the bench, Judge Kelley was listed in The Best Lawyers in America and was voted one of “The Legal Elite” for civil litigation in each of Virginia Business magazine’s annual surveys.

Judge Kelley attended Washington and Lee University where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude as well as his law degree magna cum laude.
