The Honorable Walter S. Felton, Jr. (Ret.) has joined The McCammon Group, a leading provider of mediation, arbitration, judge pro tempore, and special master services in the mid-Atlantic region.

Judge Felton retired recently after serving on the Court of Appeals of Virginia for twelve years, concluding his service as the Chief Judge. Prior to his election to the bench, he was first appointed as Deputy Attorney General of Virginia and then as Senior Counsel to the Attorney General. He later served as Counsel to the Governor of Virginia and Director of Policy. Judge Felton is a member of the Boyd-Graves Conference of the Virginia Bar Association and a former Professor of Law at William & Mary Law School. He was the 2014 recipient of the Judicial Council of Virginia’s Harry L. Carrico Outstanding Career Service Award. Judge Felton now brings this exemplary record of leadership and achievement to The McCammon Group to serve the mediation, arbitration, judge pro tempore, and special master needs of lawyers and litigants throughout the Commonwealth and beyond.

Since 1995, The McCammon Group has provided alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services including mediation, arbitration, neutral evaluation, special master, judge pro tempore, med/arb, neutral evaluation, hearing officer, fact finder, and conciliation; as well as related facilitation, training, and consulting services. It consists of seventy-nine Neutrals including retired judges and practicing attorneys located throughout Virginia, Washington D.C., and Maryland. Importantly, throughout this time The McCammon Group has achieved a settlement rate of approximately 85% in its mediation work. The McCammon Group is committed to the proposition that ADR processes provide individuals, as well as public and private entities, with many substantial benefits including effective and prompt resolution of disputes, self-determination, cost savings, timeliness, flexibility, and confidentiality.
