Judy Filner

Judith Filner is a seasoned mediation professional with extensive mediation, training, training design, and facilitation expertise. She began her career as a litigator and has applied her legal background in developing her expertise in workplace mediation in the public and private sectors.
As a Program Manager with the Key Bridge Foundation, a Program Officer of the National Institute for Dispute Resolution, and in her own private practice, Ms. Filner has supervised and trained hundreds of mediators. She has developed and delivered mediation and negotiation training for EEO counselors in the public sector, She has delivered negotiation training to hundreds of United States Air Force military and civilian personnel. She has developed and delivered mediation training for attorneys and court personnel in state court programs in many US jurisdictions, and she facilitated the development of state court mediation programs in 47 states.
Ms. Filner has been active in the field of dispute resolution since 1989. She has served on professional development committees of the Association for Conflict Resolution and the Section of Dispute Resolution of the American Bar Association. In these capacities she has presented at numerous professional conferences and has written articles on the subject of mediator qualifications.
Ms. Filner received her B.A. from Oberlin College in 1966 and graduated from Howard University Law School cum laude in 1979.
