Areas of Experience

Brian Bloch, MA, has over 20 years of experience as an ombuds. He started and developed three Ombuds offices in three different sectors: Government, NGO, and Faith-based. At the Department of the Interior, he set up an ombuds program that serves over 60,000 employees. He also started the ombuds programs at Ashoka and ISKCON–both international organizations that work in more than 70 countries.

Brian spent two years on a project of the Supreme Court of India introducing mediation into the court system. He has trained over 400 mediators and 100 ombuds. He has served on the board of the International Ombuds Association (IOA) and as associate editor of IOA’s academic journal. He is an IOA Certified Organizational Ombuds and has been awarded the Distinguished Emeritus status by IOA. In addition to his ombuds work, Brian is a seasoned mediator, facilitator, conflict coach, and trainer.
