David Moora
Areas of Experience
Dave Moora brings two decades of experience as a dispute resolution professional, helping organizations address concerns early, strengthen leadership, and implement meaningful change. He works with senior leaders and teams to turn workplace challenges into opportunities for growth and to design strategies that foster stronger alignment, improved performance, and high-trust, resilient cultures. He previously served as a Commissioner with the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, as ADR Counsel at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and as Director of the American Bar Association Section of Dispute Resolution.
A lifelong learner, Dave continually works to refine his craft and deepen his understanding of how people and organizations grow, adapt, and lead through change. He is IOA-trained as an Organizational Ombuds and a graduate of the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service’s Conflict Management Professional Certification Program, an intensive, practice-based experience focused on leadership development, coaching, early dispute resolution, organizational change, and conflict management system design. The program also included certification as a PROSCI Change Management Practitioner and as a trainer in Crucial Learning’s core programs—Crucial Influence, Crucial Conversations, and Crucial Accountability.
Together, these experiences provide Dave with a comprehensive, research-based foundation that strengthens his work with leaders and teams as they navigate complex challenges. He integrates these disciplines into a practical methodology that helps clients recognize and shift the patterns that keep them stuck, align intent, behavior, and impact, and create the conditions for lasting, meaningful change.
A recognized leader in the field, Dave has shaped national dispute resolution policy and trained hundreds of mediators, lawyers, judges, and students across the U.S. and internationally. He spent three years in Kosovo enhancing court-based mediation services and building mediation capacity. Known for his patience, creativity, and practical approach, Dave is deeply committed to helping organizations resolve challenges early, lead through transition, and build workplaces where people can thrive. He holds a B.A. in Peace and Global Studies from Earlham College, a J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law, and a Master’s in International Relations from Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs.
