Tracey Brant
Areas of Experience
Tracey Brant is an IOA Certified Organizational Ombuds with eight years of experience serving academic institutions, following 25 years in academia in a range of capacities. This depth of experience gives her an unusually grounded understanding of the cultures, pressures, and relationships that shape university life — and the concerns people bring when they need a confidential, neutral place to think.
Tracey holds a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credential through the International Coach Federation, with 15 years of coaching experience spanning emerging adults to C-suite executives across industry, academia, leadership, and life. Her mediation training through the Center for Understanding in Conflict, combined with her COO and PCC credentials, creates a distinctive triangulation of skills that deepens her capacity to meet visitors where they are — whether they are students, postdocs, faculty, staff, or alumni — to help them find their own way forward.
An active contributor to the Ombuds field, Tracey regularly presents at IOA national conferences and co-instructs the IOA Foundations Course. Her professional inquiry explores how meaning and identity shifts surface in Ombuds conversations — and how discernment in acknowledging these dimensions can restore a visitor’s sense of movement and agency. She practices in full alignment with the IOA’s core standards of independence, neutrality, confidentiality, and informality.
Tracey writes regularly on LinkedIn, where she shares insights on Ombuds practice, coaching, and the human dynamics of organizational life.
