Areas of Experience

Vik Kapoor, JD, is a seasoned Ombuds and conflict resolution expert with experience across U.S. federal agencies and international organizations. He currently serves as a consultant Ombuds for the United Nations Funds and Programmes, supporting UNICEF, UNDP, UN Women, UNFPA, and UNOPS. Previously, he was an Ombuds for FEMA, the U.S. Geological Survey, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and other Interior Department agencies.

Vik has also helped establish conflict management functions for organizations such as Intuit (the parent company of TurboTax, Credit Karma, and Mailchimp), the Digital Games Research Association, and EthicalCoach (now part of coaching.com). He served on the Governing Council of the American Bar Association Section of Dispute Resolution, where he advised the Ombuds Committee and co-drafted the ABA Resolution supporting Ombuds programs.

A former employment-based class action attorney, Vik is also a certified coach (ICF-PCC). He holds a law degree from Georgetown University and has advanced training in applied positive psychology, trauma recovery, ROI-based coaching, and leadership coaching.  He also has training in conflict coaching, coaching abrasive leaders, working with saboteurs, the Hogan leader forecast series, and others.

He wrote a bestselling book on self-coaching for young leaders (First Serve Yourself), which won a book award in leadership.
