The Honorable S. Bernard Goodwyn (Ret.) has joined The McCammon Group, a leading provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services in the mid-Atlantic.
The Honorable S. Bernard Goodwyn retired as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Virginia after more than 30 years of distinguished judicial service. Prior to his appointment to the Supreme Court, he served for over a decade as a judge of the Circuit Court for the City of Chesapeake and earlier on the General District Court for the City of Chesapeake. Before taking the bench, he practiced civil litigation as a partner at a Norfolk, Virginia law firm. In 2025, he received the Harry L. Carrico Outstanding Career Service Award and the Virginia Bar Association’s highest honor, the Gerald L. Baliles Distinguished Service Award. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Conference of Chief Justices and as co-chair of the Virginia Access to Justice Commission. Justice Goodwyn now brings this exemplary record of leadership, judicial experience, and commitment to public service to The McCammon Group, where he will serve the mediation, arbitration, special master, and judge pro tempore needs of lawyers and litigants throughout the Commonwealth.
