The Honorable Robert E. Morin (Ret.) has joined The McCammon Group, a leading provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services in the mid-Atlantic region.
The Honorable Robert Morin recently retired as Chief Judge of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia after twenty-four years of distinguished service. During his judicial tenure, Judge Morin presided over calendars in all Divisions of the Court and served on numerous committees including the Criminal Justice Act and Family Court Panel Committees. He began his legal career in private practice focusing on commercial litigation but was later drawn to cases involving human rights and death penalty defense. Notably, he helped to establish and served as a trial attorney for the Southern Center for Human Rights in Atlanta, Georgia. Later, he joined the Office of the Public Defender for the State of Maryland. He was also a partner in the firm of Fisher, Morin and Hansen, with a primary focus on complex civil and criminal litigation. A dedicated educator, he has been an Adjunct Professor of Law at Georgetown Law Center for over thirty years. Judge Morin now brings this exemplary record of commitment and leadership to The McCammon Group to serve the mediation and arbitration needs of lawyers and litigants in the District of Columbia and beyond.
Since 1995 The McCammon Group has provided ADR services including mediation, arbitration, special master, and judge pro tempore. It consists of seventy-nine Neutrals including retired judges and practicing attorneys located throughout Virginia, DC, and Maryland. Importantly, throughout this time The McCammon Group has achieved a settlement rate of approximately 85% in its mediation work. The McCammon Group is committed to the proposition that ADR processes provide individuals, as well as public and private entities, with many substantial benefits including effective and prompt resolution of disputes, self-determination, cost savings, timeliness, flexibility, and confidentiality.
