The Hon. Joanne F. Alper (Ret.) Honored for Lifetime Achievement in Family Law by the Virginia State Bar’s Family Law Section

The McCammon Group is pleased to congratulate one of our own, the Honorable Joanne F. Alper (Ret.), who is the 2025 recipient of  the Virginia State Bar’s Family Law Section Betty A. Thompson Lifetime Achievement Award. The award will be presented to Judge Alper on April 10, 2025 at the 41st Annual Advanced Family Law Seminar.

This award is presented by the Virginia State Bar’s Family Law Section to honor “…an individual who has made a substantial contribution to the practice and administration of family law in the Commonwealth of Virginia.”  Judge Alper, who was a close friend of Betty Thompson, was nominated by Leslie Weber Hoffman of the Family Law & Mediation Center in Fairfax, and her nomination was supported by an additional eight attorneys from seven different firms.

Since 1995 The McCammon Group has provided ADR services including mediation, arbitration, special master, and judge pro tempore.
